Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace region, has a pretty historic district called “La Petite France” with 16-17th century half-timbered houses along canals. The Alsace wine road crosses many well preserved and enchanting towns of historic interest such as Riquewihr and Further south along the eastern frontier, the city of Annecy also called Venice of the Alps (many canals cross the old town) is known for its blue-green lake surrounded by mountains. This city is a real spot for sports fans (hiking, biking, kite-surfing, kayaking, fishing, rafting…). The Alps Mountains hold many ski resorts for ski lovers.
